Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ruled states in New Delhi on May 25. The meeting is expected to focus on Operation Sindoor, India’s retaliatory military action against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), following the Pahalgam terror attack.
According to people familiar with the matter, the leadership of several states—including poll-bound Bihar—will be present for the high-level discussion. The meeting will also address the subsequent ceasefire announced on May 10, and the national strategy moving forward in light of recent escalations.
The upcoming meeting comes after a wave of support from NDA allies in the aftermath of PM Modi’s address to the nation. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised the speech, calling it a “stern warning” to Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and a reaffirmation of India’s strength-oriented doctrine for lasting peace.
Union minister Chirag Paswan also backed the Prime Minister’s message, stating that any future talks with Pakistan will only focus on terrorism and PoK, and that India will not fall for nuclear blackmail. “India’s response will be decisive and precise,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a 10-day Tiranga Yatra across the country starting today, aimed at amplifying the success of Operation Sindoor and the sacrifices of India’s armed forces. The campaign will include public events highlighting the damage inflicted on terrorist infrastructure across the border.
